DoE fines four people for damaging hills

The Department of Environment (DoE) Chattogram today fined four people for damaging hills in the port city.

A total of Tk 1,85,000 was fined after a hearing at DoE's Khulshi office.

Mohammad Nurullah Nuri, director of DoE Chattogram (metro) told The Daily Star that the people were fined for flattening hills in Lalkhan Bazar and Baizid area without approval from DoE.

They were asked to restore the razed area to its previous condition as well, he added.
