Forest department seizes illegal logs worth Tk 26 lakh from Ctg

A team of the forest department today seized illegal logs worth Tk 26 lakh from a village at Rangunia upazila of Chattogram.

"The illegal logs of wood were seized from Nishchintapur village of the upazila after we received a tip-off," said Md Khasrul Amin, range officer of Echamoti Range Office under Chattogram North Forest Division, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.

"A total of 3,234 cubic feet of logs were seized," he said adding that "the logs were kept there to be smuggled at a convenient time."

A case was filed in this connection, Khasrul added.
