JS body recommends not building hospital at CRB in Ctg
A parliamentary body today (October 31, 2022) recommended not constructing the proposed hospital in Chattogram Railway Building (CRB) area.
ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, lawmaker from Chattogram's Raozan and chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railway Ministry, told this to The Daily Star this evening.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The parliamentary body has also recommended the government construct the proposed hospital in Railway's TB Hospital area in Sitakunda of Chattogram instead, he also said.
Noted citizens have been raising their voices against the government's move to construct a hospital in the CRB area of Chattogram since June 2021. People from all walks of life from Chattogram also joined them against the proposal to construct the hospital there.
Later in August this year, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, and former minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain called on Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam and handed him over a letter urging not to construct a hospital in the CRB area.
