Protest continues against hospital project at CRB

Various sociocultural and political organisations continued protesting the hospital project in Chattogram Railway Building (CRB) area yesterday, claiming the project to be detrimental to the natural environment of the area.

In the morning, Shishu Kishor Mela organised a cycle rally in CRB area. After the rally, speakers said CRB is a unique place surrounded by hills, hillocks and valleys, which cannot be allowed to be ruined by the project.

Sachetan Nagorik Samaj organised protest recitation, complete with dance and music performances, in the afternoon where speakers said the city needs a hospital, but it should not be built by compromising the environment.

They said hundreds of people come to the area every day for morning and evening walks or a fresh breath of air, while for others it is a centre of cultural activities. They urged the railway authority to shift the project to another area.
