17 animals rescued from Bagerhat eco park released in Sundarbans

Seventeen wild animals of different species, rescued from Chandra Mahal Eco Park in Bagerhat, were released in the Sundarbans today.

Seventeen wild animals of different species, rescued from Chandra Mahal Eco Park in Bagerhat, were released in the Sundarbans today.

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-6) and Forest Department officials released the animals in the Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Centre area of the Sundarbans East Forest Department, reports our Bagerhat correspondent.

At the time, Rab-6 Superintendent of Police Al Asad Md Mahfuzul Islam; Nirmal Kumar Paul, divisional forest officer, Wildlife and Nature Conservation Department, Khulna; Fisheries Specialist Md Mofizur Rahman; Officer-in-Charge of Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Centre, Azad Kabir; and other officials of Forest Department were present.

Among the released animals are one crocodile, two deer, three monkeys, two turtles, seven cranes and two birds.

Earlier on November 15, the Wildlife and Nature Conservation Department and Rab-6 rescued 43 wild animals of 16 species from Chandra Mahal Eco Park. Rest of the animals will be taken care of at the Safari Park in Keshabpur of Jashore and Divisional Offices of Forest Department, said Nirmal Kumar Paul.
