Lioness dies at Ctg Zoo

A lioness died at the Chattogram Zoo in the port city's Foy's Lake area early yesterday

Nova, was 18 years and four months old, said Shahadat Hossain, deputy curator of the zoo.

"She had been ill for the past year, with one leg paralyzed for the last six months," he added.

Zoo officials confirmed that the lioness had been suffering from old-age complications and had reduced her food intake.

The zoo is currently home to various animals, including lions, bears, zebras, deer, crocodiles, rhesus monkeys, fishing cats, wild cats, cheetahs, asian palm civets, large Indian civets, drung oxen, rabbits, porcupines, jackals and more.
