14 Covid-19 patients die in Khulna in 24 hours, positivity rate 64.17%

Fourteen people died of Covid-19 and three died with symptoms at three hospitals in Khulna in the last 24 hours till 8:00am today.
The three hospitals are Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), Khulna General Hospital and Gazi Medical College Hospital.
Dr Suhas Ranjan Halder, resident medical officer and spokesperson of the Covid unit at Khulna Medical College Hospital, said that nine Covid-19 patients among 12 people at the unit died in 24 hours till this morning. And the rest had been suffering from coronavirus-like symptoms, the physician added.
Till 8:00am, 160 people have been so far admitted to the hospital, of them 96 are undergoing treatment in red zone, 25 in yellow zone, 20 are in High-dependency unit (HDU) and 19 are at Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Gazi Medical College Hospital owner Gazi Mizanur Rahman said, three Covid-19 patients died while undergoing treatment at the hospital's Covid unit in the last 24 hours.
Eighty-eight patients are receiving treatment so far at the hospital's Covid unit.
Meanwhile, two patients died of Covid-19 at Khulna General Hospital's Covid unit during the same period, said the unit's spokesperson Dr Kazi Abu Rashed.
Khulna Medical College Principal Dr Mehedi Newaz said, last night 476 people have tested for coronavirus and 236 of them have been found positive.
So, the current positivity rate stood at 64.17 percent, said Dr Mehedi Newaz.
