Current Covid-19 positivity rate 22.50%; 77 deaths, 4,334 cases recorded in 24 hours

Seventy-seven people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Today's tally brings the total number of deaths in the country to 14,053 and the death rate stands at 1.59 percent.
At least 4,334 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 8,13,138, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 22.50 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.62 percent.
A total of 19,262 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.
At least 3,295 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 800,854 and the recovery rate at 90.68 percent.
Among the 77 deceased, 48 were men and 29 were women. Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, three were within 21-30, five between 31-40, 13 between 41-50, 17 between 51-60 and 38 were above 60 years old, added the release.
