103 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

One hundred and three dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of them, five are from outside Dhaka.

With the new cases, a total of 1,689 were diagnosed with dengue in November, out of a total 25,344 infected. Of the total, 3,780 are from outside Dhaka, the DGHS data shows.

At least 5,458 were diagnosed in October, 7,841 were diagnosed in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May and the rest are from January to April, according to the DGHS.

So far 96 people have died of dengue infections in the country this year.

Twelve people died in July while 34 have died in August, 23 in September, 22 in October, and five in November so far.

Among the deaths, 88 have died in Dhaka division, two each in Chattogram division, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.

Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 665 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 122 outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
