214 dengue patients admitted to hospitals in a single day

At least 214 people with dengue fever were admitted to hospitals in the country in 24 hours till 8am today. Of them, only three are from outside Dhaka.
For the first time this year the number of dengue infected patients admitted to the hospitals in the country has crossed the 4,000-mark.
With the latest infections, a total of 4,115 patients have been diagnosed with dengue this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Of the total infected, only 147 are from outside Dhaka.
Among the total infected, 1,457 were diagnosed in the last six days until this morning, which indicates a fast-rising trend of the disease.
At least 2,286 people were hospitalised in different hospitals across the country in July, 272 in June and 43 in May.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 1,010 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 38 are being treated outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
