221 hospitalised with dengue in a single day

At least 221 more dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8:00 am today which is indicating a fast-rising trend of the disease.
Among the 221 new cases of dengue infections, nine are from outside Dhaka, according to the DGHS.
The new infections have brought the total number of dengue patients this year to 7,472 according to the DGHS. Of the total infected, only 425 are from outside Dhaka.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 31 people died of dengue infection in the country this year and all of them died between July and this month.
Among the 7,472 infected, 4,814 were diagnosed during the current month.
At least 2286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May, according to the DGHS.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 1190 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 96 outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
