266 dengue patients hospitalised in a single day

At least 266 more dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours (till 8:00am) today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
Among the latest cases of dengue infection, 46 are from outside Dhaka.
With the new cases, a total of 7,698 were diagnosed during this month out of a total 10,356 infected this year. And of the total infected, only 837 are from outside Dhaka.
At least 2,286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June, and 43 in May, according to the DGHS.
According to the DGHS data, 42 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year.
All of them died in July and August. Of them, 12 people died in July and 30 died in August.
Among the deaths, 38 died in Dhaka division, two in Chattogram division, one each in Rajshahi and Khulna division.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 1,202 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 187 are being treated outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
