343 hospitalised with dengue in a day

In only the first seven days of September, over 2,000 dengue cases were recorded in the country.

At least 343 patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8am yesterday. With the new cases, 12,434 people have been hospitalised this year so far, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

As per DGHS data, 52 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year. All of them died in July, August and September.

Among the 343 patients, 57 are from outside Dhaka. The total dengue cases outside the capital rose to 1,148.
