85 more dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 85 people with dengue fever were admitted to hospitals in the country in the 24 hours till 8am today.

A total of 1,470 patients have so far been hospitalised with dengue this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Of the total hospitalised, only 44 are from outside Dhaka.

A total of 1,098 have been diagnosed in July, which indicates the fast-rising trend of the disease.

Two hundred and seventy-two were infected in June while 43 were infected in May.

Although most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 490 of them are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and three outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
