89 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

At least 89 dengue patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 14 are from outside Dhaka, the DGHS data shows.
With the new cases, 2,733 have been diagnosed with dengue during the running month out of total 26,542 infected this year.
At least 5,458 were diagnosed in October, 7,841 in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May, and rest are from January to April, according to the DGHS.
According to the DGHS, 98 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year.
Twelve people died in July, while 34 have died in August, 23 in September, 22 in October, and six in November so far.
Among the deaths, 89 have died in Dhaka division, two each in Chattogram, Khulna, and Mymensingh divisions and one each in Rajshahi and Barishal divisions.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 388 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 118 outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
