Dengue claims 6 lives, 869 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least six dengue patients died while 869 others were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours till this (October 29, 2022) morning.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the new dengue cases, the total number of dengue rose to 36,131 of which 11,278 from outside Dhaka.
With the new deaths, the total number of death from dengue rose to 134.
Among the death cases, 79 are in Dhaka, 23 in Cox's Bazar, 14 in Chattogram, five each in Barishal and Khulna, three in Mymenshingh, two in Rajshahi and one each in Narsingdi, Narail, Bogura, Kishoreganj and Feni.
A total of 32,400 patients have already been released -- 9,905 of them are from outside Dhaka.
Some 3,597 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment of which 1,318 are from outside Dhaka.
Experts urged the authorities concerned to conduct extensive drives identifying clusters of Aedes mosquitoes immediately.
They also suggested to take effective measures after the rain stops in a bid to destroy all breeding sources so that Aedes cannot breed and spread further.
