Dengue death toll rises to 40

At least one dengue patient died and 395 were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday.

The latest death was reported from Chattogram division. Among the death cases, 19 are in Chattogram division, four in Barishal and 17 are in Dhaka, according to the DGHS.

A total of 1,311 dengue patients, including 971 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals.

A DGHS monsoon survey, conducted between August 11 and 23, found the presence of Aedes mosquitoes in 13.4 percent of houses under DNCC and 11.75 percent of homes under DSCC.
