Dengue fever: 1 dead, 89 hospitalised in 24 hrs

At least one dengue patient died while 89 others were hospitalised in the 24 hours till today morning.

The total number of deaths this year now stands at 274, while the total number of dengue patients rose to 61,844, of whom 22,901 were from outside Dhaka, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among the deaths, 169 were in Dhaka, 26 in Cox's Bazar, 36 in Chattogram, 11 in Barishal, eight in Khulna, six in Mymensingh, five in Rajshahi, two in Narail and one each in Narsingdi, Kushtia, Pabna, Bagerhat, Khagrachari, Bogura, Madaripur and Feni.

A total of 61,049 patients have already been released. Of them, 22,901 are from outside Dhaka.

Some 521 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment, of whom 229 are from outside Dhaka.
