Dengue fever: 182 dead in 11 months

At least five dengue patients died while 820 others were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning (November 8, 2022).

With the five new deaths, the total number of dengue deaths this year rose to 182, which is the highest number of deaths in a single year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the new dengue cases the total number of dengue patients rose to 44,802, of whom 15,104 outside Dhaka.

Of the total deaths, 112 were from Dhaka, 23 were from Cox's Bazar, 19 from Chattogram, seven from Barishal, six from Khulna, four from Mymensingh, two each from Rajshahi and Narail, and one each from Narsingdi, Pabna, Kushtia, Khagrachhari, Bogura, Madaripur, and Feni.
