Dengue fever: 2 patients die, 242 hospitalised in 24 hours

Two more dengue patients died while 242 were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of them, only 57 patients are outside of Dhaka.

With the new cases, a total of 7,001 people were diagnosed so far this month out of the total 17,357 infected this year

At least, 7,698 dengue patients were hospitalised in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June and 43 in May.

According to the DGHS, till now 61 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year. Twelve people died in July while 34 have died in August and 15 in September.

At present, 1,043 patients are admitted to various government and private hospitals in the country.

Among them, 814 patients are admitted in 45 government and private hospitals in Dhaka and 229 patients in other divisions of the country, the DGHS data showed.
