Dengue fever: 3 patients die, record 330 hospitalised in a day

Three more dengue patients have died while a record 330 patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am today.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, among the 330 new cases of dengue infection, 46 are from outside Dhaka.
With the new cases, a total of 625 were diagnosed in just two days this month out of the total 10,981 infected. Of the total infected, 928 are from outside Dhaka.
At least 7698 patients were hospitalised in August, 2286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June and 43 in May, according to the DGHS.
According to the DGHS 48 people died of dengue infection in the country this year, all between July, August and September.
Twelve people died in July, 30 in August and six died in September so far.
Among the deaths, 38 died in Dhaka division, two in Chattogram division and one each in Rajshahi and Khulna division.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 1262 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 131 outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.
