A physician of Dhaka Medical College Hospital died of dengue fever

A physician of Dhaka Medical College Hospital died of dengue fever early today.

Sharifa Binte Aziz Ankhi, 27, breathed her last around 5:00am at the DMCH while undergoing treatment at intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital, DMCH Director Brig Gen Md Nazmul Haque told The Daily Star.

She was admitted to the DMCH around 4:30pm yesterday.

Dr Nazmul said Sharifa was born in Joypara village in Dhaka's Dohar upazila. She obtained her MBBS degree from Rangpur Medical College.

Sharifa, a FCPS Part II student at DMCH, also was working as an on duty doctor in the medicine department of DMCH, said the director.

On August 8, a female doctor, Almina Dewan Mishu, 32, died of dengue fever at DMCH.
