The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a notice today has directed doctors to conduct their private practices only at registered hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres in the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a notice today has directed doctors to conduct their private practices only at registered hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres in the country.

Any doctor found continuing private practice at unregistered hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres, will be held accountable for disregarding the notice, the DGHS said.

The DGHS issued a notice, signed by its acting director (hospital and clinic) Sheikh Daud Adnan, in this regard today.

All heads of government and private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres have been directed to bring the matter to the notice of all subordinates in this regard.

According to the notice, efforts are on to bring all private clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centres of the country into the online registration and licensing process.

Most of the clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centres are currently included in the database of the DGHS.

All private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers have been instructed to display their license numbers, the release said.

"Some private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres are operating illegally without being included in the registration process till now. Therefore, before providing services to any hospital, clinic and diagnostic centre, the doctors have been instructed to confirm the registration there," it said.
