Free eye camp held in Thakurgaon
Friends'95 of Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School (TGBHS) in financial assistance of Love Share BD/US organised a free eye camp at the school's compound in Thakurgaon municipality area today.
A total of 240 underprivileged adults and children received treatment at the camp where a team of doctors and technicians from Grameen Eye Hospital provided treatment.
Of the patients, 55 people who were diagnosed with cataracts will go through surgery accordingly at the hospital and get spectacles free of cost.
Sagir Ali, president of Friends'95 of TGBHS, said with the same management another free eye camp was held at Sathkhamar High School premises in Dinajpur's Birganj upazila on October 7 where 107 patients were diagnosed for cataract surgeries.
Later, surgeries were conducted free of cost at Thakurgaon Grameen Eye Hospital.
Kafil Uddin, a member of the organisation, said "The goal of this eye camp is to give the light of vision and new hope to the unfortunate and underprivileged ones."
