Zafrullah responding to treatment: doctor
Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder and freedom fighter Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, who is on life support at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital is responding to treatment.
Gonoshasthaya Kendra disclosed his condition through a press release around 4:00pm today.
In the press release, Prof Brig Gen (retd) Mamun Mostafi, who is leading a medical board formed for Zafrullah's treatment, said Zafrullah is responding positively to the medicines to control his blood infection.
His kidney dialysis began at 2:15pm.
He is still on the ventilator and under close observation, he said.
After Zafrullah fell seriously ill on April 5, he was taken to Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in the capital's Dhanmondi.
On April 7, a medical board was formed with renowned doctors of the country.
Yesterday, he was put on life support after his condition deteriorated.
According to Mohib Ullah Khondoker, vice principal of Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, Zafrullah has been suffering from various problems including kidney complications.
Since he had Covid-19, he has been suffering from liver problems along with kidney problems. Zafrullah is also suffering from Septicemia.
