This magazine includes meaningful and at times, groundbreaking, articles by regular writers as well as refreshingly new ones. One such piece, written by Sara Rashid brings out with rare candour and vehemence the traumatic experience she suffered as a seven-year old which still affects her. Sexual abuse of young children is endemic in our society and largely goes unreported for fear of social stigma. The abuse is not restricted to young girls, boys are also subject to abuse by close relatives, teachers and people who are supposed to take care of them. It is about time this menace is talked about openly by all of us to radically change the mindset of parents.
