A Chattogram tribunal today sentenced two members of banned militant group Hizb ut-Tahrir to four years' imprisonment.

A Chattogram tribunal today sentenced two members of banned militant group Hizb ut-Tahrir to four years' imprisonment.

Abdul Halim, judge of Chattogram Anti-Terrorism Tribunal, delivered the verdict.

The convicts, Prokash Sayeed (26) and Mirazul Islam (27), were present in the dock.

They were jailed for distributing and keeping anti-state leaflets, said Public Prosecutor Monoranjan Das Roy.

According to the case statement, the convicts were arrested from the port city's Chandgaon area on December 24, 2018.
