The Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court today ordered to transfer the Taslima Begum Renu murder case to the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court for trial.

On July 20 of 2019, 40-year old Renu, a single mother of four-and-a-half-year-old Tuba and Taseen al Mahir, a fifth-grader, had gone to Badda Uttar-Purba Primary School to inquire about admission in hopes of getting Tuba enrolled.

But a mob beat her brutally to death in front of the school gate, suspecting her to be a child kidnapper.

CMM AM Zulfikar Hayat today passed the order after scrutinising the case dockets and other relevant documents.

Earlier on September 10 last year, Detective Branch Inspector Abdul Haque, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted two charge sheets -- one for 13 adults and the other for two juveniles -- to the CMM's Court of Dhaka.

All the 15 accused including two juveniles were earlier arrested from different places on different dates. Of them, four including the principal accused -- Mohin Uddin -- are now in jail while the rest 11 are now on bail.

Following the incident, Syed Nasir Uddin Titu, Renu's nephew, filed the case against 400 to 500 unknown attackers with Badda Police Station.
