Landmark decisions concerning women rights in Bangladesh

The Appellate Division and High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh have delivered a good number of decisions having bearing on rights of women. These landmark decisions have reiterated the constitutional ideals of equality and non-discrimination. The infographic below has featured twelve such landmark decisions delivered in a period of almost two decades. The respective cases dealt with significant issues including sexual harassment in work place, custodial rape, extrajudicial torture through fatwa , protection of domestic workers.
