Workshop on article, thesis, fieldwork and externship report writing

Society For Critical Legal Studies (SCLS) organised an intensive, resourceful and research aptitude building workshop on article, thesis, fieldwork and externship report writing (with special focus on publication strategy). Resource persons from different law schools facilitated the workshop with their research skills and expertise. They recapitulated about research methodology, framework, qualitative and quantitative research, publication strategy, exponents to complete a successful research and basics of legal and socio-legal research. Mr. Aftab Uddin Jewel (Assistant Professor, Department of Management, University of Chittagong), Mr. Soyeb Haider (Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Chittagong), Mr. M. Jashim Ali Chowdhury (Assistant Professor, Department of Law, University of Chittagong), Mr. Shakhawat Shamim (Freelance Writer at Prothom Alo and a Commonwealth Scholar for the Academic Year 2017-18), Mr. Md. Abdur Razzak (Lecturer, Department of Law, Jagannath University), Mr. Meftahul Hasan Sun (Lecturer, Department of Law, Jagannath University) and Mr. Suprobhat Paul (Lecturer, Department of Law and Justice, Jahangirnagar Unviersity), have enlightened the program as resource persons. A total of 98 participants from different law schools of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Comilla participated in the workshop. The participants were assigned and tested with different group activities regarding research: questionnaire survey, interview and preparing a research paper based on field work. The participants were awarded with certificates along with best researching group reward. The workshop ended with the concluding speech of Mr. M. Jashim Ali Chowdhury, the founder of SCLS.
