Oasis under the grey clouds
Drenched in the rain, trees and flowers thrive and boast their plush greenery in full glory. Thunderclaps make our pulses race. And the downpours cleanse away the dust — as much from our weary hearts as from the streets. And the soothing smell of earth when it is hit by rain is surreal.
But of course, monsoon is not without its nuances — the gloom and melancholy, the clogged-up roads, and the unfortunate floods.
And yet, we long for rain. Did those poets trick us after all, by romancing the rains? Plus, the humidity of the season, too, can pose much discomfort.
