There is no pressure of passengers and vehicles at Shimulia ghat of Munshiganj, Banglabazar of Madaripur and Majhikandi of Shariatpur today -- the last day before the Eid-ul-Fitr.

There are no cars waiting for the ferry at the terminal and no rush of Eid holidaymakers at launch and speedboat ghats.

While visiting the ghat around 10am, our Munshiganj correspondent found that ferries were waiting for the vehicles at the ghat.

Md Shahadat Hossain, assistant director of Shimulia River Port, said there was no pressure on the passengers at the launch and speedboat terminals.

Today, 10 ferries, 85 launches and 154 speedboats are operating at Shimulia, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.

Kausar Hossain, who was going to Barisal Sadar to celebrate Eid with his family by a private car, said "I reached at Shimulia ghat at 9:30 and boarded the ferry directly. I am very happy as I didn't face any hassle during the journey."

A motorcyclist, Delwar Hossain, said thousands of motorcycles had crossed the Shimulia Ghat yesterday (May 1, 2022). But today, there are not too many motorcycles waiting at the ghat.
