Int’l Hajj and Umrah fair to be held from November 17-19 in Dhaka
The International Hajj and Umrah fair will be held in the capital from November 17 to 19.
Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) will organise the fair at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
HAAB President M Shahadat Hossain Taslim confirmed the information while holding a courtesy meeting with newly elected executive committee of Religious Reporters Forum (RRF) at the HAAB office.
Regarding next year's hajj, the HAAB president said, "There will be an agreement with the Saudi Arabian authorities in November for the next year's hajj. During the agreement the number of Bangladeshis who will be able to perform hajj next year will be finalised."
Besides, the HAAB chief also said, age limit of pilgrims and the cost of hajj will also be finalised during signing the agreement.
Taslim said, "Bangladesh is the fourth largest pilgrims sending country in the world. Due to the IT-dependency in most aspects of the hajj, it is necessary to inform the hajj agencies and the pilgrims about the overall management of the hajj."
HAAB president also said that Hajj and Umrah pilgrims will be in direct contact with Hajj and Umrah agencies. "This will reduce the influence of middlemen and brokers. The suffering of pilgrims will be reduced."
HAAB Secretary General Faruq Ahmed Sardar, RRF President Ubaidullah Badal and General Secretary Kamruzzaman Bablu, among others, were present at the programme.
