The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has decided to halt flight operations at Dhaka airport from 12:00am to 8:00am each day, from December 9 to March 10 next year.

Flight operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will remain halted for eight hours every day for three months due to the ongoing construction work of the third terminal, CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman told The Daily Star today.

In case of emergency landing at that time, an aircraft will have to use the Sylhet airport (Osmani International Airport), said the CAAB chairman.
