10-day drama festival ends

A sizeable audience turned up to watch the plays--Inggit, a Dhaka Padatik production, Projapati, a Natyakendra production, Gharjamai, a Dhaka Theatre Mancha production, Bhaddarnak, a Natyachakra production, Binodini, a Dhaka Theatre production, Kanjush, a Loko Natya Dal production, Circus Circus, a Prachyanat production, Nitya Puran, a Desh Natok production Raktokarobi, a Nagorik Natya Samradaya production and Raarang, an Aranyak Natya Dal production.

The best audience response, marked by ticket sales, has been for three plays-- Raktokorobi, Raarang and Kanjush, said Liaquat Ali Lucky, the secretary general of BGTF. "On an average about Taka 15,000 has been collected," he added.

Mamumur Rashid, the chairperson of BGTF said, "A large part of the collection will be handed over to Mujibur Rahman Dilu’s family. With the rest of the money we will establish a fund to aid the artistes in crisis. We will even talk to other groups and cultural organisations to donate funds raised in their shows."
