The 27th anniversary of Wrishiz Shilpi Goshthi

A cultural programme and a reception of celebrities were arranged at the Public Library auditorium on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Wrishiz Shilpi Goshthi (WSG) recently. The whole programme was dedicated to the recently deceased actress Sumita Devi known as the First Lady of Bangladeshi Cinema.

Poet Shamsur Rahamn was present as chief guest while the chairman of WSG Fakir Alamgir chaired the programme. Writer Rabeya Khatun, drama activist Aly Zaker and the chairman of the Shammilito Shangskritik Jote Nasiruddin Yusuff were present as special guests.

Wrishiz Medal 2003 was conferred upon eminent philosopher and educationist Sardar Fazlul Karim and Begum editor Nurjahan Begum.

In the cultural programme Udichi, Kranti and Wrishiz performed songs and dances. The programme was directed by Fakir Siraj and Samar Barua and hosted by SM Sajjad. Nrityalok performed dances and Mohidul Islam and Rafiqul Islam recited poems in the programme.
