A first date is always exciting. But what if you had to make the girl of your dreams fall in love with you every single day? Henry Roth (Adam Sandler), a marine veterinarian working on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, finds himself in just such a predicament when he meets Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore). She's beautiful, smart and funny, but she has one tiny problem: short-term memory loss caused by a head injury she suffered in a car accident a year ago. When she sleeps at night, all memory of the day's events are erased--including those involving Henry--and she wakes up the next morning thinking it's the same day of her accident.

This romantic comedy, titled 50 First Dates, is now showing in the country's only multiplex theatre Star Cineplex. This is the second international film to be shown in the theatre over the last one-and -half months time. To mark the occasion, a première and a press show was held recently.

Mirka Rahman, Managing Director of the Show Motion Limited, Mostafizur Rahman, Executive Director of Bashundhara Group and Rabeth Khan, Executive Director of Show Motion Limited were present at the press show.

In the view of Mirka, ' 50 First Dates is a romantic comedy which will entertain the viewers immensely. They will appreciate the role of Drew Barrymore-the girl from ET to Charlie's Angels-and the slightly serious role of Adam Sandler in the movie. Apart from this, Joyjatra is doing well and it proves that good films can attract film freaks.'

Rabeth charts out the film attractions, both past and present.As he says' We have already screened a good number of Bangla movies like Bachelor, Duratta, Joyjatra and Moner Majhey Tumi. Our second international film 50 First Dates will be released from Thursday.' Apart from 50 First Dates, Spiderman 2, Joyjatra and Bangla blockbuster Moner Majhey Tumi are also being screened in the multiplex.

At the end of the press conference, 10 lucky viewers, participants in the promotional campaign of Spiderman 2, won awards. After the press show, the new movie 50 First Dates was screened.

'Imagine having to win over the girl of your dreams... every friggin' day,' with this tagline the movie will definitely attract young lovers as well as the viewers of all ages.
