93 films from 31 countries will be screened in film festival

A total of 93 famous films from 31 countries, including 30 from host Bangladesh, will be screened at the eight-day international film festival beginning from September 18 with the slogan 'Film for the people.'

Along with the 19 cinema halls in Dhaka and Narayanganj, the films will also be screened at the auditoriums of the Central Public Library and the National Museum, organisers said.

Ten of Bangladeshi films will be screened at the festival under auspices of the Bangladesh Panorama Chapter of the carnival. Those are Nodi O Nari, Surya Snan, E Desh Tomar Amar, Arunodoyer Agnishakkhi, Nabab Sirajuddowla, Alor Michhil, Suprobhat, Megher Onek Rong, Chaka and Golapi Ekhon Train-e. Besides, six rated films of celebrated film makers late Zahir Raihan and Alamgir Kabir will be screened at the festival.

A total of 31 countries are taking part in the festival including Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Finland, Austria, Poland, Check Republic, Mexico, Argentina, Benin, Ivory Coast, Tazakistan, Iran, Hungary, Brazil and others.
