Every week, singers and poem reciters gather together at Adda situated at Asad Gate. Various organisations around the city conduct these little shows, where just about anybody is invited to come, watch and enjoy. Besides that, small groups arrange homely gatherings at Adda, provided that prior arrangements and bookings are made.

Recently, a few amateurs had gathered together in remembrance of Nazrul. The group sang some of his popular compositions and recited some of his poems. The small audience seated themselves alongside the performers, on the ground and on the wide staircase.

The employees at Adda were passing around pakoda, piyaju, and tea to all the spectators. Some days back, a food festival of cookies and desserts made from "taal" were offered here. For one to witness the true passion of music, deshi hospitality and food, one must visit Adda and enjoy yet another environment emanating true culture.
