Art for art's sake? No! Art is a vast canvas that encompasses all facets of the human existence and requires a meticulous and guided journey through life's understandings, its elations and its pitfalls; this is exactly what the students of "The Laurels" are being exposed to as seen in their recent annual exhibition.

The students undertake a journey through the intricacies of Fine Art under the expert and dynamic supervision of their art teacher, Javed Jalil, who helps them to explore and feel the heights of the various genre of art. In the course of their daily school schedule, art plays an important role in shaping their tender minds. It is not unusual to hear the young students discuss the merits of sketching, painting or etching; their little heads nod sagaciously over surrealistic drawings or they pore over their art copies trying their hand at achieving a Titian red. They learn colour sync, texture, 3D effects and appreciation of others works.

The art show was opened by eminent artist Monirul Islam.
