Anup Bhattacharya turns 60

Anup was born in July 18, 1988 in Sylhet. He was the youngest amongst four brothers and sisters. His parents Debendranath Bhatacharya and Snehalata Bhattacharya raised him and his siblings in Rajshahi, where his father was stationed. His had a passion for music from a very young age and studied alongside. He trained under Guru Khirod Lal Ray in Rajshahi for a while, before switching to the noted singer Asaf ud Dawlah.

Anup Bhattacharya has served as a government officer. Though Anup is basically known as an exponent of Tagore songs, he can sing any number with equal ease. His voice seems to make the golden oldies, compositions from DL Ray, Atul and modern compositions come back to life.

Also a composer, Anup has composed a number of popular songs, namely Shukh pakhire pinjira tor khule dilam aaj, Eto shongshoy mone rekhe kache ele halobasha hoy na, Boyshakhi megher kache jol cheye tumi kandbe and many more.
