Anwar Parvez in critical condition
A distraught Jasmine Parvez, Anwar's wife, says, "Despite reaching out to the public through the media, we didn't get enough response from the people involved in the cultural field. If Anwar had been paid his due, we would not have been in such dire straits."
Anwar is a well known personality. He composed Joi Bangla Banglar Joi, which was the opening and closing song of the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the Liberation War. The timeless song inspired millions, including the freedom fighters. He has also composed about 2,000 songs and worked as a music director in about 200 feature films.
