Arabian's reception to the fashionable

Who are the trendiest and most attractive personalities in the country? Obviously the attention will turn towards those working in different media and have become known to people all over Bangladesh. Recently an international jewellery chain storeArabian'shas selected -ten males and ten females as the most fashion consious media personalities.

In 1992 the chain store was founded with the name Silver World in Muscat, the capital of Oman, with the slogan 'Fashion beyond imagination'. On the St. Valentine's Day in 2002, Silver World opened its first showroom in Bangladesh at the Rifles Square adopting the name Arabian's. Since then the jewellery vendor has endeavored in creating gold and silver ornaments based on the cultural and artistic heritage of the country. In succession of this promotion of the national tradition, Arabian's opens its second showroom in Bangladesh on September 12 at the Genetic Plaza shopping mall in Dhanmondi.

To mark the event, Arabian's accords a reception to the fashionable, chosen on the basis of a recently conducted discourse among 762 people over telephone. The voters have not only considered the dress of the personalities while giving their opinions, they have also examined the taste and awareness of trends among them.

The female fashionable personalities are President of the Dhaka Club Geeti Ara Safia Chowdhury, editor of the fortnightly Anannya Tasmima Hossain, actress Ferdousi Majumder, singer Ferdousi Rahman, Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, Shakila Zafar, media personality Nima Rahman, artiste Kanak Champa Chakma, film actress Moushumi and model Mou. The males include media personality Abdullah Abu Sayeed, actors Asaduzzaman Noor, Afzal Hossain, writer Imdadul Haque Milon, cartoonist Shishir Bhattacharya, news-caster Shamim Ahmed, band performer Shafin Ahmed, and designer Shahrukh Shahid.

The consensus conducted by Arabian's reveals some interesting aspects regarding the general clothing habit of the Bangladeshis. It has come out that pyjama-panjabi and shirt-trousers in office are the ideal dress among the Bangladeshi males. On the other hand, sari has still been the best attire for the women.
