Art exhibition on AIDS in RU

Centre of Communication and Development(CCD) and its wing organisation Bangladesh Anti-AIDS Students Alliance BASA-Rajshahi arranged this exceptional exhibition. With the slogan 'AIDS Protirodhe Jago Sobai Ghore Ghore'( Everyone be aware of the danger of AIDS). The daylong exhibition was held under the Communication for AIDS Prevention Project (CAP) being implemented with the support of CARE-Bangladesh.
A total of 73 art-pieces of the RU students and a large number of festoons, placards, posters and banners holding various awareness message about HIV/AIDS were on display. At the end of the exhibition, the prize giving ceremony was held with Prof Dulal Chandra Biswas, Chairman of Mass Communication Department of RU chaired the occasion while student advisor of RU Prof Zahid Hasan was the chief guest. Regional Coordinator of CARE-Bangladesh Dr Mousumi Ameen and Chairman of Fine Arts Dept RU Prof Shidhartho Sonkor Talukder addressed the function as special guests. Among others, Executive Director of CCD Golam Mourtoza and Convenor of BASA-Rajshahi SMA Hasnat spoke on the occasion.
Speakers, at the function, said, that art is universal and transcendence time and place. It might be one of the most effective means of awareness building program on HIV/AIDS. Many of the messages on killer disease AIDS can not be easily explained through words but can be expressed through the paintings.
