Artist Ajmal Husain in town
One of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin's contemporary Pakistani artists Ajmal Husain is in Dhaka to visit the ongoing festival of the Shilpacharya. The Paris-based artist is also here to visit his birthplace after a long time.
Born in Dhaka in 1925, Ajmal is the eldest son of Altaf Husain, the founder editor of the Dawn of Karachi. Ajmal himself was the editor of the Illustrated Weekly of Pakistan for 18 years.
In the early 1950s and 1960s, Ajmal took part in the art movement in Karachi.
