Artistes come forward for a noble cause
In her brief speech, Selima Rahman, State Minister for cultural affairs, said, "I urge all of you to come forward for this cause as early as possible. If the Almighty wishes, all of our support can save these artistes' lives." Chief adviser of Ministry of Commerce, Barkat Ullah Bulu was also present at the event.
Who's who in our cultural arena were seen at event. The cultural programme kicked of with a song Je deshete Shahid Minar achhe by popular singer Kanak Chapa. Shakila Zafar rendered two well-known songs Pathorer prithibite kancher hridoy and Tomake dekhle monta bhuley jae. Popular singer Shubir Nandi took the stage with a song Amar ei duti chokh pathor to noy. Other eminent singers including Sabina Yasmin, Farida Parveen, Md Khurshid Alam, Kumar Bishwajit, Monir Khan, Hasan Chowdhury, Bari Siddiqui, Rabi Chowdhury, Polash, Rupom, Ashraful Islam Mithu and Fakir Shahab Uddin performed on the occasion as well. Some rendered more than one song on request.

Popular film actor and coordinator of the organisation Nirapod Shadak Chai, Ilias Kanchan sang two lines of a popular song Bashor bandhilam. Renowned theatre actor Ataur Rahman rendered dialogues from Rokto Karobi, a widely known play by Tagore. The programme featured promising dancers from different organisations. Two dance numbers were performed with Bajey bajey Bangladesher dhol and Shukno patar nupoor paye by members of the Nrittyolok Shangskritik Kendro (NSK). Artistes from the organisation Bangladesh Cholochchitra, Shimul and Badal performed a dance number with a popular Bangla film song Tumi amar moner majhi. Dance artistes Sohel, Ratan, Baby, Ria and Nilufar Wahid Papri also presented dance numbers.
Actors Shuchanda, Abdul Aziz, Khaled Khan, Towquir Ahmed, Bipasha Hayat, Zahid Hasan, Sadia Islam Mou, Litu Anam, Shahidul Islam Sachchu, Tushar Khan, Chumki, Dipa Khondokar, Nusrat Yasmin Tisa, Popy, Omar Sani, Kajal, Badal and Tele Samad also performed at the programme.
Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Hanif Sanket, Rehana Parveen, Proma Aziz were MC of the programme. The proceeds from the ticket sales are to be donated for the treatment of Dilu and Parvez.
