ATN Bangla launches talent hunt

Conducted by Nawajesh Ali Khan, vice president of ATN Bangla (Programme), Mahfuzur Rahman, chairman of ATN Bangla was the chief guest of the programme. Saiful Bari, chief advisor of ATN Bangla, Sanaul Arefeen and Tuhin Barua also spoke on the occasion.

"ATN Taroka" along with the punch Tarokader Taroka("Star of the Stars") will be a reality show that will tell the story of aspiring and talented singers and actors. "To promote the talent at the grassroots level, we divided the whole programme into 17 district based components," informed Nawajesh Ali Khan.

"ATN Taroka" will roll out in different phases - introducing the concept and the show. There will be participation via auditions, an on-air premiere and the countdown to the final two talents in two different categories," he said.

Mahfuzur Rahman said, "The programme will offer viewers entertaining musical and acting performances and true talent spiced with gripping drama and high emotions."

"The winners will get a few million deals with ATN Bangla and a recording contract with ATN Music. They will also get a break in top feature films, mega serials and dramas," promised Rahman.

"Bangladeshi audiences have taken reality television very positively and in this case "Indian Idol" is a good example. The viewers will decide which hopefuls will take the coveted places in this talent hunt. Actually we want to arrange a clean and healthy competition. There won't be any room for controversies as the whole process will be done in front of a sizeable audience", ensured Rahman.

"A very competent jury board comprising senior artists in both the media, singing, and acting will be there to select the cream of the cream," said Rahman.

According to Rahman, "We will take only those who are good singers and actors as well as combine a drive to present something new and have the ability to work in a very challenging atmosphere."

The auditions begin with Rajshahi on June 15. The time and place will be announced through ATN Bangla Channel and newspapers.
