Awards for litterateurs

This year's awardees are litterateur Professor Chemon Ara, executive director of Nazrul Institute Abdul Hye Shikder and journalist Mahbubul Haque.

The chief guest of the event was Professor M Asaduzzaman, chairman University Grants Commission.

Renowned poet Al Mahmud who presided over the programme said, "Writers and litterateurs have great responsibility to the nation. It is their job to guide the new generation to the right path. Through creative and quality writing they can truly inspire the upcoming generation."

The special guests were Dr Kazi Deen Mohamad, Dr Ashraf Siddiqui, Dr Adul Kalam Manzur Morshed director general of Bangla Academy, Ahmad Nazir director general Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Zubaida Gulshan Ara chairperson Bangladesh Shishu Academy and others.
