Bangladeshi cultural team goes to Paris

The function in Paris is being held on March 16 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of UNESCO. The Governing Council of the South Asia Foundation is sponsoring the event titled, 'The oral and intangible heritage of South Asia'. The curtains go up with a rendering of a Manipuri dance by Tamanna and Subrata. Then follows a Lalon song by Anusheh and a popular Bangla folk song, Takdum takdum bajey Bangladesher dhol. The dance duo will accompany Anusheh. Other SAARC countries will also perform in the programme.

In the words of Tamanna, "We aim to project the heritage of Bangladesh and are confident of a good response from the audience."
