Bhawaiya Angan to honour folk artistes

Among the organisation's commendable efforts to preserve Bhawaiya is a laurel for the singers, composers, lyricists and instrumentalists of this folk genre.

Outlining Bhawaiya Angan's plans, AKM Mustafizur Rahman, the director of the organisation said, "We plan to arrange monthly programmes to introduce the traditional folksongs to the younger generation. On October 27, the birth anniversary of music exponent Abbasuddin Ahmed, we will announce the name of the awardee."
